Description
Volunteer Practicum in Education Support
This program does not require the completion of a practicum to graduate because many of the individuals taking the program are already working or volunteering in the field and only seeking to upskill or upgrade their qualifications. Those interested in completing a Volunteer Practicum for this program may do so by adding the following additional course:
Volunteer Practicum in Education Support
This course requires that participants complete a minimum of 25 hours of volunteering in an educational support environment. Participants are responsible for arranging their own volunteer practicum. The practicum must be completed in Canada working with children with special needs and overseen by a certified teacher who will serve as the Mentor Teacher. In order to pass this course the Mentor Teacher must provide the online instructor for this course with a written positive performance review and the participant must submit a written post-practicum reflection to their instructor. It is strongly advised that you secure your practicum first BEFORE registering for this course, as the $200 course fee is non-refundable upon registration. Upon completion of the course the 25 hours of volunteer practicum credit will be added to your transcript as an additional course and a certificate of completion for the practicum will be issued. * Participants must first complete all four sessions in Educational Support for admission to this course.
