Module 1: ECOM1003 – Communication Exceptionalities

Module 2: EEXP1001 – Autism Spectrum Disorder
This module introduces Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and focuses on strategies for supporting children with ASD in early childhood settings. Participants will learn to identify early signs of ASD, understand the role of Early Childhood Assistants (ECAs), and apply practical strategies to support social interaction and play.

Module 3: EEXP1002 – Behaviour and Mental Health Exceptionalities
This module provides an overview of behaviour and mental health exceptionalities in young children, exploring common challenges and effective strategies for supporting children in early childhood education settings. Participants will learn to identify early signs of mental health and behavioural issues and how to implement practical support techniques.

Module 4: EEXP1003 – Physical and Multiple Exceptionalities
This module focuses on understanding and supporting children with physical and multiple exceptionalities in early childhood settings. Participants will explore the challenges faced by children with these exceptionalities and learn strategies to provide effective support.

Module 5: ECAF1003 – Creating Inclusive Programs
This module focuses on the principles and practices of creating inclusive learning environments in early childhood education. Participants will explore strategies for developing inclusive programs that cater to the diverse needs of all children, ensuring that every child is supported and engaged in their learning journey.

ECA Practicum
This practicum is a mandatory part of the Early Childhood Assistant Diploma Program.
